The Plantation
St. Peters, St. KittsThe many sugar plantations nestled across the island were key to the island’s commercial success in being able to export sugar to many regions. Plantation owners were farmers and they commanded large areas of land and a large labor force that was made up primarily of enslaved Africans. The Plantations consists of large herds of livestock, sugar mills, boiling houses, and distilleries.
