BASSTERRE, St. Kitts – LESS than two years after a robbery/shooting incident which claimed the life of his father, a young man of Palmetto Point was reportedly robbed at gun point last evening (Mar. 3).
Superintendent Lionel Moore – Head of District B – explained to SKNVibes that Renaldo Hendricks – operator of Highway Superette and Bakery – had entered his home sometime before 10:00 p.m. and was about to close the door when the perpetrator entered and demanded money.
He said the young man handed over the money after which the bandit fled the scene.
The District Commander explained that it is always advised that individuals hand over whatever money is being demanded of them. This is because, as he explained, “it doesn’t make sense risking your life over money… Money can always be made but a life that is lost cannot be regained…”
Investigations are being made into the incident and to date, there are no suspects in custody.
The public is being asked to provide whatever assistance it can in solving this case. Persons with information can contact either the nearest police station, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS) or use the recently-launched Crime Reporter app to forward the information.
In late-June 2015, Renaldo’s father, Earnest ‘Gray Patch’ Hendricks, was working in the bakery during the early-morning hours when a gunman is said to have entered the area and shot him during a robbery attempt.
He succumbed to his injuries a couple of weeks later.
