Police Press Release 06-03-2017: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 06,  2017, (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period March 1st – 2nd 2017.

     

    ARREST AND BAIL: 
    Arrested: Tejaune Gumbs of Dieppe Bay was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Malicious Damage to one glass door and one glass window of another property in St. Pauls.    
     
    Arrested: Darren Caines of St. Pauls was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of  Battery on Police. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 3rd April, 2017. 
     
    COURT CONVICTIONS: 
    In matters at Charlestown Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Miss Yasmine Clarke the following convictions(s) were reported:
     
    - Kiereese Browne of Cotton Ground was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis and fined Eight hundred dollars ($800.00) to be paid in three (3) months. If the fine is paid on time the conviction will not be recorded 
    - Stetson Blake of Stoney Grove was convicted for the offence of Driving without due care and attention fined Eight hundred dollars ($800.00) to be paid in three (3) months or if in default, serve one (1) month imprisonment                                                                                                                      
    OTHER ACTIVITY:  
    Building Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a report of a Building Breaking and Larceny on Victoria Road. The V/C reported they secured the business place on February 27, and upon return on the morning of February 28, discovered the office broken into and the place was also ransacked. A sum amount of money was reported to be missing. The Scene was processed by Crime Scene Technician Investigation into this report will continue. 
     
    Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers reported that they discovered and uprooted two hundred and forty nine (249) marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to three feet in height between the area of  Pond Extension and Conaree 
     
    Search Warrant Executed: Police executed a number of search warrants over the period of this report. The Warrant was executed in Stone Fort.   
     
    Traffic Accidents: There were three (3) accidents on the federation’s roadways (2) in St. Kitts and (1) in Nevis during the period of this report. 
     
    Community Engagement: Officers of the Tabernacle Police and Fire Station hosted an open house for the students of the Edgar. T. Morris Primary School. The open house gave officers and students a chance to interact. The officers shared information about the various duties in Law Enforcement, encouraged the students to be model students, and they were also given lessons on Fire Safety from the officers of the Fire and Rescue Services.
