BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young man who resides at Craddock Road, Nevis was charged with the robbery incident which took place at S. L. Horsford’s Nevis in mid-February.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force issued a press release today (Mar. 8) which informed that Shakel Campbell was charged for the offence of armed robbery which occurred on February 17.
Information which reached this publication indicated that sometime after 4:00 on that afternoon, “two assailants robbed the establishment of a sum of money” before making good their escape.
It is suggested that one or more firearms were used during the commission of the act but that was not confirmed by the authorities.
This publication understands that the young man was an employee of S. L. Horsford’s Ltd (Nevis Centre) and has ceased working there approximately one year ago.
It is further understood that shortly, charges would be laid against another individual who is believed to have been involved in the incident.
"I want to commend my investigators in bringing this case to this point. I also want to thank all who assisted. It is this type of partnership that will reduce Crime and remove the fear of Crime from our community," Head of the Nevis Division Superintendent Trevor Mills is quoted by the press release as saying.
