BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – GUN violence has claimed the life of yet another individual in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
While a police press release issued last evening (Mar. 28) does not reveal much about the incident, it confirmed that a shooting had taken place at about 9:20 p.m. in Newton Ground.
“The incident resulted in the death of one (1) person, a male resident of Newton Ground. Initial investigations reveal that the victim was shot by unknown assailant(s).”
The Police Force has advised that members of District ‘B’ as well as those of the Violent Crimes Unit are making investigations into the incident.
“Head of Division ‘B’, Superintendent Lionel Moore encourages persons who may have seen the incident to report what they saw to the Police. Persons can do so by calling any Police Station, by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS) or by using the SKN Crime Reporter App on their Smartphone,” the press release stated.
This incident has taken the murder toll within the Federation for 2017, to six. The last three of these homicides have taken place within the past four days.
All incidents remain under investigation.
