BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A McKnight young man has been charged with death of his teenage brother.
The Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office has informed, via a press release, that Kareem Chumney of Janet Alley was charged with manslaughter.
Chumney is believed to be in his early 20s.
The incident which resulted in the charge being laid, occurred on the evening of Saturday, March 25 where, as it was reported, an altercation between the two resulted in the teenager being stabbed and meeting his demise.
“The investigation have revealed that at about 10.00pm on Saturday (March 25), an altercation occurred between Chumney and the deceased, a 15 year old male. During the altercation, the victim was stabbed. He died at the Joseph N. France General Hospital.”
His brother’s death marked the fourth homicide to have occurred within St. Christopher and Nevis for the year. And since then, two other homicides have taken place.
These are still being investigated by the authorities.
