Parsons shock title contenders Lodge in Constituency Seven Domino League

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, November 8, 2017 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- Parsons Domino Club, one of the two teams from Constituency Number Six taking part in the 22nd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition, on Tuesday evening November 7 travelled to Constituency Number Seven and caused havoc.

The now popular domino league, which is the longest running in the region, got into its ninth segment of the second round of the round robin stage and players from Parsons assembled at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project to face home team and former title holders Lodge Domino Club that is the tournament’s top title contender this year.

Going by its below average showing in the league, many had loudly predicted that Parsons would be mauled by the home team. They were terribly mistaken. Anyone who would have made a bet to that effect is now reeling out of shame as Parsons beat Lodge 13-7.

One would be forgiven for thinking that Lodge players had their hands tied. It was a sweet revenge by Parsons who had lost in the first round by default at home to Lodge because they (Parsons) could not raise a team in their own backyard to face the visiting Lodge who were breathing fire in anticipation of overrunning the home team.

Tuesday evening November 7 also saw another two sweet revenge wins one by Sylver’s and the other by Small Corner who had been beaten by Mansion Upsetters and Giants respectively in the first round of play. Playing away at Domino House in Mansion Village, Sylver’s manhandled and crushed home team Mansion Upsetters 13-5, while Small Corner beat Giants 13-10 at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project.

In the games where the order of winning did not change in the second round, Molineux beat Guinness 13-11 at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux; Tabernacle beat Beers 13-7 at T-Vill’s Hang Out Spot in Tabernacle Village; defending champions Unity beat Saddlers 13-11 at Shanty Bar in Saddlers; and Christchurch humbled Unstoppable 13-5 at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village.

Sponsored by Prime Minister and Area Parliamentary Representative, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, Constituency Number Seven Domino League’s second round of the round robin stage continues with the tenth segment of seven games that will be played on Thursday November 9 at five venues. All games start at 7:30 pm.

The Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project will host two games that will see Giants meeting Christchurch, and defending champions Unity facing it off with Tabernacle. Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village will also host two games, with Beers meeting Lodge and Sylver’s facing it off with Small Corner.

Other games will have Parsons meeting Unstoppable at the Edgar Gilbert Sport Complex pavilion in Molineux; Mansion Upsetters will be hosting Molineux at the Domino House in Mansion, and Saddlers will be hosting Guinness at home in Shanty Bar, Saddlers Village.
