St.Kitts-Nevis Hotel and Tourism Association conducts professional and personal development training workshop

    Basseterre, St. Kitts 23rd November, 2017 – With the tourism industry within the Federation growing significantly along with the extension of its various products and services the St.Kitts-Nevis Hotel and Tourism Association (SKNHTA) recently conducted a significant and relevant training workshop that speaks to the very core and need of the industry which is human resource.

     

    The objective of the workshop was to continue to ensure that those persons that work directly within the hospitality sector are constantly expanding their knowledge of customer service, learn new ways to serve and extend their professional and personal skills. The facilitators for the workshop were the Sugar City ToastMasters who covered topic areas such as identify your soft skills, appearance and behaviour, disability or inability and serve great and give great service.
     
    Tara Hendrickson, Executive Director of the HTA stated that “The training the attendees received speak directly on how they can efficiently carry out their duties, excel at serving guests and how they interact with their colleagues. The subject areas will add motivation, empowerment and shed new light on how the participants can continue to self-motivate and expand their skills and abilities to remain as assets to their respective employers.”

    The SKNHTA would like to thank those that attended the workshop, the facilitators, Sugar City ToastMasters and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce where the workshop to took place. The Association will continue to serve their members by hosting meaningful training which is in keeping with the expansion of the tourism and hospitality products and services by offering a new level of training that is complementary to the needs of the sector.
