Rotary Club of St. Kitts Celebrates Rotary’s Founding

By: Rotary Club of St. Kitts, Press Release
BASSETERRE, Feb 21 2018 — St. Kitts celebrates Rotary’s 113th anniversary with church service and fellowship!

As has become the tradition the Rotary family in St. Kitts (which includes both RC Liamuiga and RC St. Kitts as well as their Rotaract clubs and Interact clubs) will congregate in worship on February 25th 2018 at the Wesley Methodist Church to commemorate the anniversary of Rotary International. Following the church service all roads lead to Brimstone Hill Fortress for the Rota-fam Annual Joint Fellowship & Family Fun day. With a membership of approximately 80 Rotarians between both clubs, plus 35 Rotaractors and nearly 50 Interactors, along with their Partners-in-Service and families, it promises to be an afternoon of Fun, Food & Fellowship.

Founded in Chicago, USA on February 23, 1905 - Rotary is a global network of volunteers who share a passion for enhancing communities and improving lives around the world. Rotary clubs will celebrate this anniversary by participating in an array of service projects that address community needs at home and abroad, and of course hosting fundraisers to fund these magnificent projects. In this vein, the Rotary Club of St. Kitts will be hosting its International Dinner on March 3rd starting at 6.30pm under the distinguished patronage of HE Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, GGMC, CVO, QC, JP. Tickets can be purchased from any Rotarian.

Rotary projects range from fighting disease and providing clean water to supporting education, growing local economies and promoting peace. Rotary’s top priority is the global eradication of polio - a paralyzing yet vaccine-preventable disease that is now 99.9 percent eliminated from the world.
