BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Apr. 6, 2018 – THE male body that was found in the mountainous area of Wingfield Road on Sunday (Apr. 1) has been identified as that of Priston Flemming who was reported as missing in February of this year.

The 22-year-old Newton Ground resident was last seen by a family member on February 27, 2018 at about 9 p.m. in the Old Road Area.

At around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, police received a phone call about a body that was found in the said area. When they visited the scene, along with officers from the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services (SKNFRS) and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF), they found the decomposing body amongst the trees on the side of a steep ghaut.

A press release issued yesterday (Apr. 5) by the Royal St. Christopher  and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) stated that “Forensic Pathologist Dr. Valery Alexandrov performed a post mortem examination on Flemming's body on Wednesday, April 04. Dr. Alexandrov concluded that Flemming died as a result of Homicidal Ligature Strangulation.”

Investigations into the matter are ongoing and police are asking persons with information regarding this incident to contact the Violent Crime Unit by dialing 467-1887 or 467-1888, 662-3462.
