BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Apr. 6.2018 – POLICE have confirmed that the cause of death for Guyanese national, Marlon James, whose body was found in a clump of bushes in Hamilton, Nevis was the result of gunshot wounds and burning.
James’ lifeless body was found on March 31, in the early morning hours.
On Wednesday (Apr. 4), Forensic Pathologist Dr. Valery Alexandrov performed an autopsy on the man’s remains and concluded that “the cause of death was due to multiple gunshot wounds to the body and thermal burns to 90% of the body”.
His body was discovered on March 31, 2018 along a road in the Hamilton area and reported to the Charlestown Police Station.
The nature of the man’s death has caused an outcry in his native Guyana.
Police have not indicated if they have anyone in custody in relation to that incident only stating that the investigations into the matter are ongoing.
