April 24th, 2018 -- The St Kitts-Nevis Co-operative Credit Union League Limited is the umbrella body of all the Credit Unions in the Federation.
The purpose of the League is to represent the interests of its members and to seek to advance the Credit Union Sector.
About 18 months ago, the League began a process of restructuring. This resulted in the framing and acceptance of new bi-laws to regulate the activities of the organization.
This was followed by the Annual General Meeting. Elections were held and a new Board of Directors was installed.
It was agreed by all of the constituent members of the St Kitts-Nevis Co-operative Credit Union League that in order to effectively carry out the mandate of the organization, a fully functional secretariat was required.
In the last quarter of 2017, the League invited applicants to apply for the position of General Manager. That person would be tasked with leading the transformation of the League.
The St Kitts-Nevis Co-operative Credit Union League Ltd is pleased to announce that with the kind assistance of the FND Credit Union, Mr. James Webbe has been appointed General Manager of the League.
Mr. Webbe comes to the position with over 40 years of experience in the Credit Union Sector. In addition, in terms of his Credit Union education, he has qualified as a Development Educator (D.E).
Mr. Webbe has successfully lead the transformation of the foundation for National Development (FND) into a full fledge Credit Union, which paid dividends of 7 ½% during the past year.
The League is confident that with the experience gained over the years, his knowledge and training in the sector, Mr. James is ideally placed to lead the transformation of the St Kitts-Nevis Co-operative Credit Union League Ltd. We would like to wish him ever success in this new position.
