BASSETERRE. St. Kitts, Apr. 24.2018 – THE People’s Action Movement (PAM) party on Sunday (Apr. 23) ratified its new executive that was voted in during the organization’s Delegates Meeting held earlier this month.

At the Party’s 53rd National Convention held at its Central Basseterre headquarters, Jacqueline Howell - Assistant General Secretary; Natasha Grey – Treasurer; Sheryl Reid - Deputy Chair; Shirley Julius – General Secretary; Jonelle Rawlins – PRO; Cyndie Demming - Deputy Political Leader; Ambassador Jonel Powell – Chairman; Hon. Shawn Richards - Political Leader; Hon. Eugene Hamilton - Deputy Political Leader were all ratified unanimously.

In congratulating the committee, Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Eugene Hamilton said they stand at the beginning of the party’s run into the next general elections.

He told committee members that their task is to lead the party in that direction, while reminding supporters that this provides an opportunity for them and the organization to go forward together.

Minister of Public Infrastructure, Hon. Ian Liburd noted that the party is alive and has not lost its identity as is bandied.

The Minister noted that the party is still strong even after 53 years.

The recognition of its identity comes as it remains a committed member of the Team Unity Administration. Members of the administration were present at the convention, and minister Liburd told supporters that, Prime Minister, Dr. Timothy Harris will have his two terms, and the baton will then be passed to party leader Shawn Richards.

He noted that “Shawn is being groomed well for the position”.

Liburd reminded that the Party currently has four seats in the National Assembly and will be pushing for additional seats.

Chairman Powell stated that Team Unity is only as strong as the People's Action Movement.

“As your Chairman, I assure you that I personally see to it that our party executive candidates, our loyal soldiers will work tirelessly to lead this party to victory in all six constituencies that we contest in the next general elections.”
