Chinese national robbed at knifepoint

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Jul. 01.2018 – A Chinese national residing in St. Kitts was recently held at knifepoint and robbed, as bandits made their escape with an undetermined quantity of cash.
     
    Xie Zhung Yi, who resides on Cayon Street, was held at knifepoint at her residence on June 27 as she attended to her grandchildren.
     
    Police in a statement today confirmed that around 10:21 p.m. on Wednesday, they responded to the residence of Yi at Cayon Street, Basseterre.
     
    Law men said that their investigations so far have revealed that, Ms. Yi was at home with her two grandchildren when two masked men entered her bedroom with what appeared to be knives. One of the intruders held a knife to Ms. Yi, while the other searched rooms. They were able to take a large sum of money from the residence before escaping.
     
    Police said members of the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene for evidence to assist with their investigation; and they are asking persons with information regarding this incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at the Basseterre Police by dialing 465-2241.
