BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- DESPITE the slow uptick of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in recent weeks in the Federation, the number of persons succumbing to the ailment has increased.
This comes as St. Kitts and Nevis last evening (Nov. 09) recorded two new deaths as a result of the virus. The Ministry of Health in its latest dashboard last evening reported 27 confirmed deaths from the virus.
In addition, the ministry yesterday reported 13 new cases, the first major spike over the last several days. That brought the overall case numbers to 2,730 since the onset of the virus in the Federation - with 94 still being active and 2609 deemed to have recovered.
A look at the statistics showed 2,286 cases were reported in St. Kitts and 444 on Nevis.
Despite the low number of active cases health officials are still pleading with citizens and residents to follow the COVID-19 protocols and wear a facemask while out in public.
