BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - TRANSPORTATION officials in Kingtown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines are now searching for answers, as to what caused a small aircraft that departed the J.F. Mitchell Airport on Bequia to suddenly fall out of the sky during the midday hours.

The plane, according to reports, was carrying three passengers - a man and his two children, along with the pilot - when it fell into the water.

According to reports, the plane was destined for St. Lucia when, based on videos, it nosed-dived into the water.

Videos captured by residents in the area show the ill-fated moment when the plane hit the water.

Commander of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard, Deon Henry, confirmed media reports that all passengers onboard the plane had died, noting that they were pronounced dead at the scene.

St. Vincent Times reported that residents in the area recalled hearing strange sounds shortly after the plane took off before falling out of the sky.
