BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE are still probing yesterday’s (Jan. 8) shooting incident that left 23-year-old Addison Martineau of Upper Shaw Avenue, McKnight nursing wounds to the upper part of his body.
The shooting incident, which came three days after another in St. Kitts, occurred between 11:00 a.m. and 12 noon at Lower Shaw Avenue, McKnight.
Police revealed that their preliminary investigations revealed that two masked individuals had exited a vehicle and opened fire on a number of persons who were congregated where vehicles are often washed.
“Mr. Martineau sustained injuries in the process and was rushed to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He is currently warded in stable condition,” police said.
Police are said to be steping up their efforts to combat the growing crime and violence problem facing St. Kitts and Nevis.
Last year, the Federation recorded 31 homicides and a number of other instances of shooting at with intent.
