February 22nd, 2024 -- In a remarkable feat, Mariece Bankesie née Roberts graduated with a Master's degree in Educational Technology and earned an Instructional Technology Coaching Certificate from Boise State University, achieving a 4.0 GPA. The accomplishment was further underscored by Mariece's induction into Phi Kappa Phi, an esteemed honor society recognizing academic excellence (top 10%) across all disciplines. Phi Kappa Phi is dedicated to promoting scholastic achievement and integrity, bringing together the brightest minds for advancing knowledge and community service.
Adding to the significance of this achievement, Mariece had the privilege of leading her college as the Grand Marshal at the Winter Graduation, a role that symbolizes leadership and accomplishment within the academic community. Mariece embarked on the Master’s journey at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which thrust society into a virtual environment. In that environment, she developed a profound interest in technology’s capability to enhance and motivate learning experiences. Navigating the complexities of work, family, and studies, she found a delicate balance which led to her academic success.
In expressing gratitude, Mariece thanks God for her ability and strength. She also extends heartfelt thanks to her parents, whose teachings on discipline and the mantra "Everything worth doing is worth doing well" paved the way for this success. The unwavering support of her husband, family, friends, and well-wishers played a pivotal role in her overcoming challenges and achieving this milestone. She is also grateful for the educational foundation provided in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis by the various schools - Victoria Road Preschool, Newtown Primary (now Tucker Clarke Primary), Basseterre Junior High/Washington Archibald High, Basseterre High, and Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC).
Mariece’s educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and Marketing, attained in 2013. She later earned a Grade 4-8 Math Teaching Certification and worked for a combined period of 6 years as a K12 Music Specialist and Middle School (Grade 6-8) Virtual Math Teacher. In view of Mariece’s education, training, and experience, she has been offering math tutoring as well as beginning piano lessons, virtually.
Additionally, given her course of study and experience, Mariece is currently an AI Trainer-Team Lead and Freelance Instructional and Web Designer.
