On Tuesday 18th April 2006 it was all smiles, hugs and thanks at the Gingerland Health Center when Nurse Patsy Hanley (NRP Candidate for St Georges) donated a spanking new refridgerator to the staff of the Gingerland Health Center.
The staff could not believe their eyes and one worker on seeing the refridgerator exclaimed, "Its beautiful, just beautiful". Nurse Sandra Frederick accepted the refridgerator on behalf of the staff in the absence of Nurse Archibald who is the Public Health Nurse.
Nurse Sandra Frederick in thanking Nurse Patsy said that Nurse Patsy would know what the health center needed as she used to work there. She commented to the laughter of all that she was one of the politicians that kept their promises.
Mrs. Christian Phillip said the prayer of dedication for the refridgerator thanking the Lord for sending it and praying for its long life.
Nurse Patsy who is also a devout Christian and Lay Leader at her church insisted on the prayer. Nurse Patsy in handing over the refridgerator gave thanks to God for providing an avenue for her to donate the refridgerator and said that she was glad that she could give back something to the Health center.
She made the point that she worked there so she knew that there were problems with the refrigerator that had constantly given problems and one day just stopped working.
She had promised the workers that as her retirement gift to the center, she would donate a refridgerator and that she was glad that she was able to make good on her promise.
Patsy said that she was sorry that Nurse Archibald was not there as she was at the Eye Clinic but was glad that se was able to hand over the refridergator all the same.
