BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE sweet sounds of Sugar City continue to reach the horizons of other Caribbean countries, as the Nu Vybes and Kollision Bands recently returned home after rocking visitors to and residents of two neighbouring islands at their Easter Weekend gigs.

Shervin White, Manager of the Kollision Band, told SKNVibes that the band recently returned from Statia, where they played for that island’s annual Beach Bash and a J‘Ouvert morning jam.

“It was awesome! People came and they seemed to have really enjoyed themselves. And for the J‘Ouvert, it seemed like the whole of Statia came out,” he said.

White said that on Friday (Apr. 9), the band would be journeying to Anguilla for a performance at Rafes alongside Pantha Vibes Band.

“It’s going to be a band clash type of jam, and we’re definitely looking forward to that,” White said.
He explained that the band would be hoping to make an appearance in St. Maarten for that island’s Carnival celebration on April 28.

The band will be performing for a troupe from St. Kitts, which will be a part of that Carnival. “The band has been doing well. We’ve been playing out a whole lot and we recently played at Mention’s Birthday Bash, which went down well,” White added.

The Nu Vybes Band recently returned from performing in Virgin Gorda for that island’s Festival and was scheduled to perform for a J‘Ouvert morning celebration and Beach Bash.

According to Seth Saheli, for reasons beyond their control their performance at the Beach Bash was cancelled but they certainly rocked the place for the J‘Ouvert.

They are also scheduled to perform at the St. Maarten Carnival on April 26, and is preparing to ‘blow away’ the patrons in Rock City for St. Thomas Carnival from April 27 to May 2.

They also have two songs that will be released for the St. Thomas Carnival. One of them is  ‘Leh we go Rock’.
