Mr. Gregory Adams is the building authority’s new chairman

    Road Town, Tortola - Cabinet approved the appointment of Mr. Gregory Adams as the new Chairman of the Building Authority in accordance with the Building Act (CAP. 234) Section 4.

     

    “The appointment became effective on April 1, 2010 for a period of two years. “Mr. Adams has vast experience in the field and is expected to contribute significantly to ensure that the Building Authority continues to move in a positive direction,” Minister for Communications, Honourable Julian Fraser RA said regarding Mr. Adam’s appointment.

     

    The new chairman is an experienced and qualified architect with extensive knowledge in planning and project management. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Architecture and a Masters Degree in City and Regional Planning. He also has a Certificate in Public Management and AICP certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners. Mr. Adams is also the owner and architect of Onyx Ventures Ltd.

     

    “I am excited about the appointment and I am looking forward to working with the other board members. I feel that with my experience and educational background I should be able to make positive contributions to the Board,” Mr. Adams told the Department of Information and Public Relations.

     

    As the Chairman, Mr. Adams will be responsible for carrying out the provisions of the Building Ordinance.

     

    Mr. Adams will be joined by Vice Chairman, who is the Director of Public Works and other board members Messrs Aston Baronville, Terrence Gumbs and Robert Wells.

    The role of the Building Authority is to improve the building standards in the Territory by reviewing building plans and making recommendations where necessary.
