    Basseterre, St. Kitts - On Tuesday, 20 April 2010, Administrative Professional, representing various business entities (both public and private) participated in the Annual One Day Seminar for Senior and Middle Administrative Professionals at the Marriott Resort in Frigate Bay.

     

    The seminar saw presentations from St Kitts very own Mr Tapley Seaton Q.C who delivered an appreciated session on Protocol focusing on the right way to address persons holding special titles, seating arrangements and formal functions; Mr Analdo Bailey, General Manager of the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Banking enlightened the forum attendees on the importance of Time Management; and the topic of Leadership – Getting the Best out of Getting Together was presented by Dr Jennifer Moffett, a Communication Specialist at the Ross University. 

     

    Participants to the seminar found the presentations engaging, timely and very important in the work and development of the Administrative Profession. Others indicated that such seminars should be opened to both the Executive/Manager and the Administrative Officer – it would provide an open avenue for one on one discussion on the challenges faced and the future of the Administrative Profession.  In particular, mention must be made of the 2 male administrative officers who attended the seminar and were vocal in their understandings of the administrative profession – Mr Denver Mike and Mr Seanel Riley.

     

    Vice President of NAAP and Chairperson for the AP Week Committee, Ms Acklyn Blaize said that “Sessions were not all formal presentations by facilitators. Participants also got the opportunity to network with persons within their profession, and also win prizes which were sponsored by corporate businesses.  Vouchers from DIGICEL were won by Floreen Edinborough, Alicia Joseph-Freeman and Lori Flemming.  A $100.00 top up from 888 was won by Maritsa Roberts of the law firm Seaton and Foreman.  Give-away prizes were also donated by Caribe Café and the City Drug Store. Every participant at the Seminar also received a card for international calls compliments 888.”
                                                                                                                                                                   
    Ms Blaize continued that “with the One Day Seminar a success, preparations for the Annual Executives and Admin Professionals Dinner on the evening of Wednesday, 21 April are well on the way.  The Key Note Speaker for the event is the Honourable Nigel Carty, Minister of Education and Information Technology. “
