By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE LIME Xtreme Bacchanal J’Ouvert Troupe was officially launched with a block party and lots of giveaways at Tony’s Liquor Centre on Saturday, November 27.

Present at the launch was Carnival Chairman Clement Ogarro, who gave brief remarks. The event also saw a spectacular performance by Hot Rod and the ‘High For Carnival’ Soca singer Shakki.

The Movado models gave the crowd a first look at this year’s Xtreme T-shirts and displayed the various creative ways they can be worn and designed.

According to Public Relations Officer (PRO) Osdel ‘Scotty’ Hanley, packages were available for a special price of $EC50 on Saturday but would now be sold at the regular price of EC$75.

He said the packages include a bag, T-Shirt, whistle, Mohawk, water bottle, face mask, body paint, bandana, unlimited drinks and food on J’Ouvert Morning and the much anticipated wet down party on Bank Street.

Hanley said the packages are available at Tony’s Liquor Centre and would also be available at Mick Heyliger’s Jewelry Store from Monday, December 13.

Grand Masters Band was also live at the launch and a lucky female won a Blackberry phone after being entered into a raffle by purchasing a package.

The PRO said there would be many other giveaways leading up to J’Ouvert as well as on that day.

Xtreme has been a part of the annual carnival since its debut in 2001 and had taken the title for Best J’Ouvert troupe last year.
