BASSETERRE St. Kitts, March 29th, 2012 -- Dieppe Bay resident Ms. Latoya Rouse is among contestants vying for the title of Miss University of the Virgin Islands this Saturday, 31st March, 2012, at the Reichold Center for the Arts in St. Thomas.
Ms. Rouse, a Junior Psychology major at the university will make appearance in six(6) judged segments: Introductory Speech/ Business Wear, ambassadorial appearance, performing Talent, evening Wear and interview on the evening of the show and a pre-pageant interview on the evening before the show.
The ambassadorial compeition which takes place annually on alternate campuses is one of the highlights of the school’s 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee celebrations and promises to be an evening of intelligence, splendour and talent.
Although she has no prior pagent experience, Ms. Rouse feels quite confident about her succes in this years show as she is a firm believer in God and also the motto “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” She expressed how excited she is to be a part of such a prestigious show that has honed high accolades and looks forward to making her family, friends, well-wishers and country proud.
The contestant who walks away with the crown will receive a full scholarship of tuition, room and board for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year and also represent the University of the Virgin Islands at the annual Miss Historically Black College and University (HBCU)Hall of Fame Ambassadorial Competition in Atlanta Georgia, in September of this year.
