BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Federation will once again be represented at the Miss Caribbean World Pageant scheduled to be held on May 5, in Tortola.
This year, 25-year-old Venetta Zakers will be holding the flag for St. Kitts and Nevis.
Zakers is no stranger to the pageant and modeling scene as she has competed in several competitions and held the title of Miss Silver Jubilee (2008) and Miss St. Kitts-Nevis World 2009).
Along with Zakers, a total of 17 countries are expected to participate.
The contestants have been arriving today (May 1) in Tortola, along with last year’s winner Sudeakka Francis of St. Kitts and Nevis.
In the year that she captured the crown, Francis also won the Best Talent segment.
The contestants will be judged in five segments: Swimwear, Costume, Talent, Evening Wear and Interview.
Tomorrow, May 2, the interview section will take place at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College at 5:30 p.m.
The countries competing are Miss Anguilla, Miss Antigua & Barbuda, Miss British Virgin Islands, Miss Cuba, Miss Curacao, Miss Dominica, Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Guyana, Miss Jamaica, Miss Magarita Island, Miss St. Lucia, Miss St. Maarten, Miss St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Miss US Virgin Island and Miss Venezuela.
