    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, APRIL 20TH 2005 
     Families who have to be relocated to make way for the multi million dollar La Valle Golf Course which is now under construction, will receive keys to their brand new homes on Thursday afternoon.
    Secretary of La Valle Greens Limited, Dr. Hermia Morton-Anthony said a handing over and dedication ceremony has been organised by the company and starts at 4:30 P.M. at the new La Valle Housing Development.
     
    Mrs. Morton-Anthony told the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister (CUOPM) that following her Opening Remarks and the Invocation, an address will be given by La Valle Greens Chairman, Mr. Oswald Martin.
     
    She said Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Technology, and Sustainable Development, Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas will deliver the Feature Address, while Minister of State in that Ministry, the Hon. Nigel Carty, will formally hand over the keys of the homes to the families.

    Following the policy of the ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Government, the La Valle Development has been thoroughly discussed with the residents of Sandy Point, La Valle and Fig Tree.
     
    Former Parliamentary Representative, Mrs. Jacinth Henry-Martin, other Government  officials, and representatives of the La Valle Greens Limited, the White Gate Development Corporation and the Frigate Bay Development Corporation have had extensive discussions with the families who are directly affected by the relocation.
     
    Some of the new homes that will be occupied by the La Valle residents.
    La Valle Greens Limited is a joint venture between the Whitegate Development Company and the Frigate Bay Development Corporation.
     
    The golf course is being constructed on nearly 500 acres of land. The golf course and driving range will be on 220 acres; another 50 acres has been set aside for the future development of the course to 27 holes; the Hotel/Resort will be on 18 acres; the Marina (10 acres); Commercial complex (3.5 acres); Residential complex (18.3 acres) and 8 acres have been set aside for a future Sports Complex.
