~~Adz:Right~~HAVANA, Cuba – Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, 71, a government minister with 30 years of public service was recently appointed as the seventh vice president in the Council of State on Cuba.

According to the Communist Party daily Granma, “the move was proposed by the party's ruling politburo” which highly recommended Cabrisas for the new post.

Cabrisas Ruiz was described as having made invaluable contributions to international commerce and economic affairs on the island. He served in the capacity of Minister of Commerce and Cuban Ambassador focusing on foreign trade and investment ministries.

Cuban Ambassador to St. Kitts-Nevis Her Excellency Ana Maria Gonzales Suarez told SKNVibes that she is very pleased with the decision made by the politbureau and opined that Cabrisas is an ideal person as he has had many years of experience in the area.

“This decision was made after a process that went on for some time. Cabrisas has been the Minister of Trade for many years and has always been dealing with the economic sector in Cuba. He is a man with great knowledge of matters concerning trade, so he is very suitable in enhancing the services of the Cuban government.

Ambassador Gonzales further informed that as Cuba is currently “in the process of improving the productivity of the government, Cabrisas would make a very good addition to the team [Cuban government].”
