                            7 Public Servants Chosen as Employees of the Quarter

    Roadtown, Tortola - Seven public servants have been chosen as the Government’s Employees of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2008.Ms. Dian Jeffers of the Survey Department; Mr. Vibert Hart of the Department of Information Technology; Mr. Anthony McMaster of the Ministry of Health and Social Development; Ms. Asha Gordon of the Department of Human Resources; Mrs. Carolyn Stoutt Igwe of the Premier’s Office, Ms. Sharlene Smith of the Ministry of Education; and Ms. Roslyn Lettsome of the Ministry of Communications and Works are this quarter’s honourees.

     

    The outstanding public servants will be the guests of honour at an Employee of the Quarter Presentation Ceremony to be held today at Prospect Reef’s Reef House Conference Room. 

    His Excellency the Governor David Pearey, Permanent Secretary in the Deputy Governor’s Office Ms. Julia Christopher, and Director of Human Resources Mr. David Archer are among those scheduled to speak at the event.

     

    Human Resources Manager and Coordinator of the Employee Relations Unit Mrs. Clearlie Brown said she is pleased all seven government ministries nominated employees this quarter. “We are pleased that so many government departments and ministries are getting on board with us, and are realizing that it is important to recognize the contributions of their employees,” she said.

     

    The seven winners were nominated by their co-workers and chosen following an interview and selection process led by the Employee of the Quarter Steering Committee.   ~~Adz:Right~~

     

    In addition to this quarter’s honourees, seven more public servants were commended by the steering committee for being put forward as their department’s top nominees. They were: Ms. Lesley Maduro from the Department of Agriculture; Mr. Joel Dore from the Department of Conservation and Fisheries; Mr. Jerome Periera from Her Majesty’s Prison; Mrs. Kedimone Rubaine-Smith from the Department of Information and Public Relations; Mr. Simba Todman from the Internal Audit Unit; Mr. Dylan Penn from the Department of Town & Country Planning; and Mrs. Dotsie Penn-Tolbert from the Ministry of Finance.

     

    The Employee of the Quarter recognition programme began in December 2005. The initiative is designed to encourage workplace excellence and to highlight the accomplishments of individual public servants.
