    COURT INFORMATION

     

    Basseterre Magistrate's Court

    Levi Smith of Mattingley Heights was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis which occurred on 2nd January 2015, and fined $600.00 which is to be paid in six (6) weeks or in default will serve one (1) month in prison. 

    Anderson Williams was convicted for the offences of Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without A Drivers' License which occurred on 8 January 2014, and fined $750.00 for the offence of Driving Without Insurance, which is to be paid in two (2) months or in default will serve two (2) months in prison, and $250.00 for the offence of Driving Without A Drivers' Lincense which is to be paid in fourteen (14) days or in default will serve one (1) month in prison. 

    Mario Ommonish was convicted for the offence of Reckless Driving which was occurred on 9 March 2014, and fined $600.00 which is to be paid in six (6) months or in default will serve four (4) months in prison. 

    Derick Williams of Taylors Village was convicted for the offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention,  and fine $400.00 which is to be paid in fourteen (14) days or in default will serve one (1) month in prison. 

    Chu Zhang of Sprott Street was convicted for the offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention which occurred on 19 February 2015, and cautioned.

    Philmore Caines of St Paul Village was convicted for the offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention which occurred on 21 November 2014, and fined $500.00 which is to be paid in fourteen (14) days or in default will serve one (1) month in prison.

    ARRESTS

    A juvenile was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm, which was committed on 16 March 2015.  The juvenile was later bailed to make an appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate's Court on Monday 27 July 2015.

    Lincoln Stevens of Keys Village was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Armed With Offensive Weapon to wit a knife, which occurred on 25 May 2015 at Cayon. He was later bailed and to make an appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 1st June 2015. 

    Kemroy Simmonds of Hermitage Village, Nevis was formally arrested and charged for the offences of Driving Without A Valid and Unexpired Licence and Driving Without Insurance. He was later bailed to make an appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate's Court on Tuesday 2nd June 2015. 

    Pedestrian Hospitalised After Being Struct By Moving vehicle

    The Traffic Department on Nevis is investigating the circumstances by which a traffic accident occurred on Wednesday 27 May 2015 along the Island Main Road at Cherry Garden Housing Project, which resulted in a pedestrian being hospitalised.

    Initial investigations revealed that the driver of motor jeep PA 806, Edmondton Liburd of Stoney Grove was reversing along the road in the vicinity of Enrique's Bar when Amelica Ross of Cherry Garden Housing Project was crossing road at the same time and the vehicle struck her. 

    Four (4) Transported To The Hospital As A Result Of A Traffic Accident 

    An investigator at the Frigate Bay Police Station is investigating the circumstances by which a traffic accident occurred on Thursday 28 May 2015 at the junction South East Penninsular Main Road and the road leading to Cockle Shell Beach, which resulted in four (4) persons being transported to the hospital. 

    Initial investigations revealed that motor Jeep PA 1371 driven by Philmore Gumbs of Conaree and motor Jeep P 5640 driven by Karen Mc Donald of Prospect were involved in the accident. Motor Jeep PA 1371 was travelling from the road leading to Cockle Shell Beach and motor Jeep P 5640 was travelling along the Main Road towards the Sea Bridge. When both vehicles got in the intersection the accident occurred; motor Jeep P 5640 had four occupants including the driver and motor Jeep PA 1371 sole occupant, the driver were transported to the hospital.  

    Armed Assailants Attacked Driver Of Moving Vehicle
      
    The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is investigating a shooting incident which occurred at Mc Knight at Five-Ways about 9:50 am today (Friday 29 May 2015), which resulted in a parked vehicle being damaged.

    Initial investigations revealed that a motor car was travelling along the road and when it got in the vicinity of Naomi's Bar two (2) armed assailants discharged their loaded firearms at the vehicle, the driver escaped unhurt. 

    Anyone who has information pertaining to this incident is ask to contact the CID at 465-2241, ext. 220, or 230, the nearest police station, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).
