Scotiabank Staff raise funds for Breast Cancer awareness

    St. Kitts, May 2015 - Sweet Success! Thanks to the generosity of the Scotiabank staff,  over EC$12,000 will go towards early cancer detection, screening and post care treatment programmes.

     

    The funds were raised at the 5th Annual Scotiabank Cake Auction at the Fort Street Branch.  Following a pre-auction wine and cheese mixer, guests and staff alike engaged in active bidding raising almost EC$6,500.  The funds will be doubled as they will be matched by the Scotiabank Bright Future Global Philanthropy programme.

    Devanand Ramsumair, Country Manager, commended staff that donated their time and effort toward this fund raiser and noted that one of the Bank’s policies was to encourage volunteerism in staff members.  He stated that through fund raising efforts, this year, the team have raised over EC$11,000 for charity which will be matched by the Bank’s Philanthropy programme.   He further stated, “We believe breast cancer awareness is an important issue facing our community.  At Scotiabank it’s important to us that we serve people, not just inside our branches and offices but throughout our nation as well, through initiatives like these.“
