Police Press Release: Juvenile in Nevis arrested and charged with larceny

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 01, 2016 (RSCNPF):  A quick response by Police to a report of an attempted robbery in the Hamilton area in Nevis on Tuesday (March 29) has resulted in the arrest of a juvenile for larceny.  

     

    The larceny which occurred between 1pm, March 28 and 8.00am March 29, resulted in the theft of fertilizer and other equipment from the farm in Hamilton.  
     
    The next day (March 29), a neighbour saw to two young men wearing dark clothing and carrying cutlasses approaching their property. They immediately went inside, secured the premises and called the police. |
     
    Upon responding, the police began a search of the surrounding area and  uncovered the cutlasses, black gloves, and other items. One of the young men was found hiding in some bushes in close proximity and was taken into custody.  
     
    As a result of this investigation, another neighbour has reported  that on March 28, they were robbed of a sum of money by two young men in dark clothing, wearing dark glasses and carrying cutlasses.
     
    Two other persons have also been detained. 
     
    Based on the investigations, the juvenile has been charged for the larceny of the farm. The investigations continue.
