Police Press Release 06-04-2016(02: Commissioner's Luncheon, recognizes top performers across the police service

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 6, 2016 (RSCNPF): An initiative to recognize outstanding performance was rolled out today by Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ian Queeley at the Serendipity Restaurant in Fort Thomas. The new initiative which will be held quarterly and dubbed the "Commissioner's Luncheon" will be a part of the Police Service's  Awards and Recognition  Program and is designed to recognize one officer from each of the units and departments across the service. 

     

    Commissioner Queeley told the nine (9) officers who were nominated by their superiors, "I welcome you here today, to enjoy a great lunch and to fellowship with your peers, while being recognized by the High Command. It is our way of saluting you for your demonstrated superior performance, dedication to duty,  embrace of and meeting the challenges we have faced, fostering of teamwork and your genuine commitment to the law enforcement objectives of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force."  He added, "your demonstrated attitudes clearly shows that you are onboard with our shared goal.... that of ensuring citizen safety for the citizens, residents and visitors of St. Kitts and Nevis.
     
    The officers recognized  were,  Police Constable Wayne Sutton of Division "A" and assigned to the Tourist Patrol,  Woman Police Constable Andrea Battice of Division "B" assigned to the Old Road Police Station, Police Constable Gleason Burke, Division "C" Violent Crimes Unit (Nevis), Police Constable John Davis of the Traffic Department and Police Constable Jerry Watts of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).  
     
    Recognized from the tactical and other units were Bernadette Henry, Constable Ray Farrell of the Special Services Unit (SSU), Constable Lyndie George of the Anti-Drug Unit (Drug Squad) and Constable Victor Nicholas of "Task Force Nevis."
     
    Police Constable Jerry Watt of the CID said, "to be recognized like this was a surprise. I was told to have a uniform ready for lunch with the Commissioner, once I got more details, it really feels good to know that my work and the work of the others have been noticed.  It was good to be recognized."

    Also present at the first Commissioner's luncheon were all the members of the Police Executive High Command. They are Deputy Commissioner Hilroy Brandy, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Terrance James, head of the Operations Directorate,  ACP  Andre Mitchell, head of the Crime Directorate, ACP Merclyn Hughes, head of the Administrative, Resources, Technology and Intelligence Directorate, Mr. Clifford Govia - Force Personnel Officer, Mrs. Icilma Phipps-Gilbert - Force Finance Officer and Mr. Reuben Pullock, Force Telecommunications Officer. 
     
    Commissioner Queeley also expressed sincere appreciation to the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for their embrace and sponsorship of the recognition program. He stated their interest began during a courtesy call on the Police High Command and they readily consented to partner and sponsor the first Commissioner's Luncheon. Commissioner Queeley added with a sense of optimism that  he hopes that other stakeholders would be jealous and emulate the Chamber.
