BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – “Father god thanks for sparing my life and my daughters life I now have to live in fear but I’m happy it’s me n nothing happened to her.”
That is the statement purported posted social media by a young mother who was reportedly stabbed several times by an unknown assailant who invaded her Parray’s Village, St. Peter’s home early this morning (Nov. 1).
Information reaching this publication stated that while in her bedroom asleep with her infant daughter sometime after 1:00 a.m., the young woman was aroused by the presence of a male intruder.
The intruder reportedly attacked her but she fought valiantly and he was unsuccessful in his quest and exited the house.
She however received several non-life threatening stab wounds during the process and was later transported to the JNF General Hospital, where she was treated and discharged.
A police communiqué confirmed that the incident did take place and that officers of the Stapleton Police are currently investigating.
It also stated that technicians from the Forensic Services Unit had canvassed the scene for evidence.
In recent months, there have been reports of two cases of rape, which are yet to be solved, and many reports of burglaries, housebreakings, larcenies and robberies.
