March 4, 2021 - St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank (popularly referred to as ‘National’) officially launched its 50th Golden Anniversary celebration with a Church Service on Sunday, February 28, 2021. The church service was held at the Rivers of Living Water Christian Center at 5 p.m. in Lime Kiln, St. Kitts.

The event was attended by the Board of Directors, management, staff, and specially invited guests. The public was encouraged to view the service virtually via Facebook and YouTube. Special performances by the staff and the Bank’s choir made the event a glorious affair.

Key remarks were given by the Honorable Dr. Timothy Harris, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Mr. Timothy Antoine, Governor, Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Mr. Alexis Nisbett, Chairman, SKNANB Board of Directors, Mr. Analdo Bailey, Managing Director of the National Group of Companies, and Mr. Donald Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of the Bank.

The National Bank story is truly phenomenal, but also symbolic of our citizens spirit, drive, and determination to not only dream big, but to work hard, persevere and succeed to be the best. From its humble beginnings in 1971, as the smallest bank in the Federation, National has grown to become the largest commercial bank in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union. Chairman Nisbett echoed these sentiments in his remarks when he stated, “As chairman, I am often asked what is the Bank’s secret, and why after so many years it continues to be successful. The answer is simple - it is our staff. We are successful because of the committed, dedicated people that work for us and who have been a critical part of our 50-year journey”.

The Prime Minister, Dr Timothy Harris in his opening remarks described National as a jewel of the Federation and gave his deepest recognition to the staff of the Bank. He further stated, “National Bank is the bedrock of our Federation. Its success is our Nation’s success and its geometric growth and development have enhanced our national pride and self-confidence. Its contribution extends far beyond the shores of St. Kitts and Nevis. It has become the institution of most systemic importance to the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union”.

National Bank was incorporated on 15th February 1971, with paid-up capital of $164,000.00 and total assets of $440,000.00, and now boasts a capital base of $539 million and total assets in excess of $3.3 billion. Its financial performance has been impressive, with an unbroken record of growth and profit since its inception. According to its Managing Director, Dr. Analdo Bailey, who gave the exhortation, stated “We all know that National Bank has been very profitable. National Bank has helped to build this nation. Not only that, but many of us may have forgotten, that truly the wealth and power of any nation is its people”.

‘National’ unveiled its milestone 50th Golden Anniversary celebration with decorations at all branches, as a visual reminder of its journey to fifty years. On February15, 2021, the Bank showed its appreciation to its customers for their loyalty over the years, with a Customer Appreciation Day.
