BASSETERRE, St. Ktts - A young woman lost her life on Friday (Aug. 27) following a traffic accident in the Bird Rock area.
Dead is 21-year-old Keniqua David of Saddlers Village.
According to a police report, the accident had involved motor jeep P6667, which is owned and was driven by Kellian Hazel of St. Paul’s.
Investigations revealed that close to 1:00 a.m. on the day in question, Hazel had exited the parking lot of a club in Bird Rock and collided with the chasis of a 40-foot container.
The St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services was summoned to the scene to extricate David who was in the front passenger seat.
A unit from the Emergency Medical Services had transported both of them to the JNF General Hospital, where Hazel was treated and discharged for injuries to his hand, while David succumbed to her injuries close to midnight.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of her death.
This traffic accident has taken to three the number of fatalities for the year.
The first was that of 37-year-old Gavin Herbert of Lime Kiln, while the second one was that of 24-year-old Ziron Roberts of Newtown.
