Press Release

BRADES, Montserrat (June 26, 2012) – Returning nationals are being encouraged to complete the immigration forms upon arrival at a port of entry here.

According to Project Officer at the Montserrat Tourist Board Rosetta West, it has become necessary to actively promote the need for residents and returning nationals to complete the Embarkation and Disembarkation (ED) Forms.

“In a meeting held with the Statistics Department, Immigration, the Premier’s Office and Tourism, a decision was taken to promote as much as possible, especially to returning residents, the need for them to fill all areas of the ED Forms. This decision has come about due to the difficulty the Immigration staff encounter with returning Montserratians who refuse to fill certain parts of the ED Form. This information is important for the tourism board to know for reporting and statistical purposes,” West explained.

She said many Montserratians believe that filling out certain areas of the form such as how long they are staying and where does not apply to them.  However, the information on the forms helps government and the tourism agency to improve the quality of the product and service on island.
