Digicel St Kitts & Nevis Visits a Home for the Aged

Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, August 16th 2013 - The Cardin Home located in St Johnson’s Village, St Kitts is a place where a number of elderly Kittitians have come to call “Home” since its establishment more than 85 years ago. A haven and place of refuge for our Seniors, many of the residents have no family or friends to visit them. However on a national public holiday of August 6, 2013, a Team of Volunteers from Digicel St Kitts & Nevis Limited visited the Cardin Home with smiles, snacks and toiletries.

The mid-morning buzz of Team Digicel spending time with residents of the Cardin Home for the Aged, was ushered with a brief devotion and sharing of fruits and sandwiches. The Digicel staff members were delighted to mingle with those who gathered in the main dining area and laughter echoed throughout the Home. The Home’s Nurse received a donation from Digicel of adult pampers, toothpastes, lotions, liquid soaps, detergent, shampoos and other necessary daily products, on behalf of a thankful Cardin Home.

Marsha Chatterjee, Marketing Manager of Digicel St Kitts & Nevis expressed “Thanks to the Supervisor of the Cardin Home for the privilege of having visited the sanctuary. The pleasant conversations with the Residents brightened our day and we are truly delighted that we were able to share a beautiful summer day with you.”

Digicel’s 4G Summer Campaign and the visit to the Cardin Home are dedicated to the memory of our dear friend and colleague Kaye Woods, who passed away suddenly on Monday, July 22, 2013. Kaye Woods dedicated her life to her family, friends and to the Digicel company – she was Extraordinary.
